Otto Addo has defended Ghana defender Abdul Mumin, whose poor clearance allowed Angola to secure a late victory at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The Black Stars aimed to extend their dominance in Kumasi and avoid defeat after several attempts to score went unrewarded.
The match took a turn for the worse when Joao Milson, who came off the bench, capitalized on Abdul Mumin’s indecisiveness to secure a late win for Angola.
Despite the costly mistake, Otto Addo believes it overshadowed Mumin’s otherwise impressive performance.
“We made some mistakes so it’s not only him. The grass was not that good. Besides the mistake, he had a really good game. He played a lot of passes in between the lines and won a lot of duels. He is young and surely will develop.
The defeat effectively ends Ghana’s 24-year unbeaten run at the Baba Yara Stadium, which has long been considered a fortress.
Ghana will aim to regain momentum as they prepare to face Niger in their next match in Morocco on Monday, September 9, 2024.
