Ghana’s Parliamentary Chamber is undergoing significant renovations to improve the facility.

During a visit by Channel One News, it was observed that the chamber’s fixtures and fittings had been removed for refurbishment.

On Friday, August 23, the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, visited the chamber to inspect the ongoing renovations and assess the progress.

Currently, all desks, chairs, carpets, and other furnishings have been removed. Rewiring is also underway to install a new conferencing system.

The retrofitting process began about two weeks ago. It’s worth noting that back in 2014, the Parliamentary Service renovated the chamber with new furniture imported from China, which sparked dissatisfaction among Ghanaian taxpayers.
