Pastor Salifu Amoako and mother of his son apprehended over their child’s accident

Pastor Salifu Amoako and his ex-wife, Mouha Amoako, were arrested on October 15, 2024, in connection with a fatal accident caused by their 16-year-old son, Erald Amoako, who drove a Jaguar SUV into an Acura vehicle at East Legon’s Mensah Wood Street on October 12, 2024.

The accident resulted in the deaths of two 12-year-old victims, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh, while three others were rescued, with two treated and discharged, and one still hospitalized.

Erald Amoako and his passenger were also rescued and hospitalized.The Ghana Police Service confirmed the arrest of Pastor Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako, stating they are assisting the investigation.

A team from the Police Management Board, led by Inspector-General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, visited the bereaved family and injured victims to offer condolences.

The Police assured a thorough investigation to bring closure to the grieving family.The incident has sparked public outcry, questioning the legality of a 16-year-old driving a vehicle.
