Patrick Yaw Boamah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, has retained the Okaikwei Central parliamentary seat after a re-collation of votes at the Electoral Commission’s Greater Accra Regional Office.
The re-collation reversed an earlier declaration that had announced Baba Sadiq of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the winner.

Boamah secured 21,099 votes, defeating Sadiq, who received 19,368 votes.
In his victory speech, Boamah expressed his gratitude to his constituents for their continued trust and support. He pledged to persist in advancing development projects and advocating for the community’s needs in Parliament.
“In elections, to compete is part of democracy. To lose is part of democracy and to win is also a part of democracy.
“So, let me congratulate my competitor, the NDC, and also use the opportunity to thank the teaming supporters of the NPP in Okaikwei Central and the national party.
“We fought a good fight and waged a very good campaign and God has been so good to us and for giving us victory,” he stated.
