Rt Rev. Col. John Kwamina Otoo, a board member of the National Peace Council (NPC), has emphasized that maintaining the country’s peace is a collective responsibility, not solely the duty of the council.

He highlighted the need for vigilance among citizens and the involvement of all stakeholders, including individuals, in safeguarding national peace during the upcoming 2024 elections.

Rt Rev. Col. Otoo clarified that the NPC’s role is not to raise alarms indiscriminately, but rather to work collaboratively with the public to ensure peace.

Speaking at a joint graduation religious parade at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) in Accra, he noted, “Peace is a shared responsibility. As political voices escalate, remember that the peace we enjoy comes at a cost.”

His sermon, based on Luke 12:48 and the theme “He that much is given, much is expected,” urged graduates to utilize their newly acquired skills to enhance and add value to their respective roles.

Air Vice Marshal Maxwell Mantsebi-Tei Nagai, the guest of honor, advised the officers to lead by example, focusing on truth and excellence rather than accolades.

He encouraged both officers and civilians to apply their Command and Staff College education to excel in their service to the country.
