Chelsea have agreed to buy Portuguese winger Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers for €63 million (£54 million).

The deal includes an upfront payment of €60 million and an additional €3 million in add-ons.

The 24-year-old forward will have a medical at Stamford Bridge before completing the transfer, which will bring Chelsea’s summer spending to over £200 million.

Pedro Neto, who joined Wolves from Lazio in 2019, has played 135 games and scored 14 goals.

If he transfers to Chelsea, it will be the highest sale in Wolves’ history, surpassing the £47 million they got for Ruben Neves.

Chelsea have already spent about £140 million this summer on nine new players, including midfielders Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Renato Veiga, and Omari Kellyman; goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen; defenders Tosin Adarabioyo, Aaron Anselmino, and Caleb Wiley; winger Estevao Willian; and striker Marc Guiu.

If Pedro Neto, Penders, and Omorodion join Chelsea, their total spending could go over £240 million.

They’ve made around £90 million from sales, including Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall, and Omari Hutchinson, and Conor Gallagher is expected to move to Atletico Madrid for £33 million.

The new players would bring Chelsea’s senior squad to as many as 50. Premier League teams must list up to 25 players after each transfer window, but players under 21 are not limited.

Chelsea’s Premier League season will start with a game against champions Manchester City.
