A two-year-old boy is currently battling for his life after sustaining severe injury from a fire incident and was allegedly neglected by health practitioners at Efutu in the Cape Coast North Constituency of the Central Region without a common paracetamol as first aid to the injury.

According to family of the victim, nurses at Efutu didn’t even look at the degree of the injury but as soon as they (the family) told these nurses the child has suffered a scald from hot soup, did nothing but rather referred them to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital without a single first aid medication.

Sister to the mother of the child explained that nurses at Efutu upon their arrival told them they don’t have the equipment to treat scald without any first aid medication but told them to go to Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.

“We nearly lost him since he was unconscious out of the pain and without any ambulance to rush him to the hospital. But by the grace of God he is alive receiving treatment,” she narrated.

The boy currently is responding to treatment at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital where he has been admitted.
