The Manhyia Palace on Thursday, August 21, held the one-week rites for the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, in a solemn ceremony attended by chiefs, royals, and mourners.

Her passing, which was officially announced on August 11 by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, during a meeting of the Asanteman Council, brought together paramount chiefs and representatives of the various Asante clans.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III was enstooled in 2017 following the death of her predecessor, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II. She was deeply revered for her significant role in the Asante Kingdom, where she worked tirelessly to uphold traditions and safeguard the rich cultural heritage of the Ashanti people.

Throughout her reign, she served as a strong pillar of support to the Asantehene and the wider traditional authority, leaving behind a legacy of service, dignity, and cultural preservation.
