In the Kpeshie Lagoon area of the La Dade-Kotopon municipality, 13 individuals have been apprehended by the police for allegedly engaging in illegal development activities on sections of the Laboma and Teshie Military shooting range.
The Greater Accra Regional Security Council (REGSEC) conducted an inspection of the site, revealing extensive filling and construction of structures in various stages of completion.

Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, Chairman of the Accra REGSEC, addressed journalists, assuring that unauthorized structures would be demolished in the coming days.
He emphasized that the arrested individuals were not the owners of the structures, but rather workers who were hired to carry out the illegal development.
Titus-Glover stated that the police would investigate and identify the individuals responsible for hiring the workers.
He urged anyone with information about the sale of the land to come forward, as traditional leaders claimed that no land had been sold for permanent structures.
The REGSEC chairman warned that all unauthorized structures would be demolished, including those near the Kpeshie Lagoon and the shooting range.
The crackdown on illegal development in the Kpeshie Lagoon area is part of a broader effort to protect the environment and ensure public safety.
The REGSEC has vowed to take swift action against anyone found to be engaging in illegal activities in the area.
