The Ghana Police Service has denied reports that militiamen are being trained in Kwahu, Eastern Region, for the 2024 general elections. Following an internal investigation, the police have deemed these claims as baseless.
The Police Service has also initiated a probe to identify those responsible for disseminating this false information.
“We wish to state that our investigation has found no evidence of such training in the area.
“The Police have commenced an investigation to identify those behind the false publication to come and answer for their actions in line with the due process of the law.
We wish to caution the public against the publication and dissemination of fake news.”
