The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation following the circulation of a disturbing viral video that has ignited widespread outrage on social media.
The 31-second clip, which has been widely shared, shows a group of young men harassing a female student.
The undated video, titled “Kumaca on Heat,” begins with the young woman walking ahead of a large crowd of predominantly male students.
In the footage, she is subjected to both physical and verbal abuse, as several individuals push and strike her while others can be heard jeering.
The situation escalates in a later scene, where an unidentified person forcefully grabs the student by the top of her dress and kicks her legs out from under her.
In response to the video’s circulation, the Ghana Police Service released a statement on social media, assuring the public that those responsible will be identified and brought to justice.
Investigations are currently underway to ensure that the perpetrators are held accountable for their actions.
