The Ghana Police Service has initiated a manhunt for a suspect filmed wielding a weapon during violent confrontations between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Mamobi, Accra.

The suspect, identified by the nickname “Fatau Motorway,” is wanted in connection with these disturbances, which involved clashes between the two political groups.

The police have released his image and are urging the public to provide any credible information that may lead to his capture.

In a public appeal, authorities emphasized that they are conducting an intelligence-led operation to apprehend Fatau Motorway and others involved in the violence.

The Police Service is calling on all citizens to support this effort to bring the perpetrators to justice and uphold peace and order.

This initiative is part of the police’s broader crackdown on political violence in the lead-up to the 2024 elections, aimed at ensuring security and enforcing the law nationwide.
