The Ghana Police Service has swiftly interdicted Detective Corporal Baba Amando Ibrahim, stationed at the Tuna Police Station in the Savannah Region, following allegations of professional misconduct.
The decision comes after a viral video surfaced showing the officer assaulting a member of the public.
The Police have stated that the interdiction is to allow for a thorough investigation into his actions, in accordance with the Police Service Regulations.
In a statement, the Police Service confirmed that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has personally contacted the victim’s family, offering the Service’s full support during the investigation.
The IGP has also directed the Savannah Regional Police Commander to collaborate with the family to address the matter appropriately.
