Police recover stolen vehicle from Ursula Owusu’s office

The Ghana Police Service has successfully recovered a stolen pickup truck belonging to Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West.

The vehicle was among several items stolen after unidentified individuals broke into her office on December 9, 2024, amid widespread unrest following the December 7 elections.

To date, over 100 suspects have been arrested in connection with the post-election violence.

Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday, December 12, ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs for the Ghana Police Service, reassured the public of ongoing efforts to restore peace and maintain law and order.

ā€œCrackdown on perpetrators of the post-election disturbances have resulted in the further arrest of 17 more people over the past 24 hours. The arrest of the 17 people brings to 123, the total number of suspects so far arrested.

ā€œAlso, through an intelligence-led operation, We have been able to recover the stolen Nissan Pickup vehicle belonging to Honourable Ursula Owusu-Ekuful.

ā€œThis vehicle was stolen from her office on Monday, December 9, 2024. The vehicle is now in the custody of the Dansoman Police. We are continuing our efforts to get the perpetrators behind this arrested.ā€
