Class Media Group’s Accra FM has received an official request from the Accra Regional Police Command to release political talk show host Nana Otu Darko for questioning.

This request is a part of the ongoing probe into the inflammatory statements made by politician Hopeson Adorye during a recent interview on the station.

Hopeson Adorye, a prominent figure in the Movement for Change, sparked controversy by claiming that the NPP had instructed him to use dynamites in the Volta Region to intimidate NDC supporters and discourage them from voting in the last elections.

His statements led to his arrest, arraignment, and subsequent charging with publication of false news.

Following his court appearance on Thursday, May 23, the Dansoman District Court granted him bail set at GH¢20,000 with two sureties, one of which must be justified.

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) then sent a formal request to Class Media Group, urging them to ensure Nana Otu Darko’s presence for questioning.

The police believe the host’s involvement is crucial in uncovering the context and authenticity of the allegations made during the interview.

The CID’s letter, delivered on the same day, emphasized the urgency and importance of the matter, requesting Nana Otu Darko’s presence at the Accra Regional CID on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 10 am, along with a copy of the audio and video recording of the program to facilitate investigations.
