Porto and Roma, both strong contenders for the Europa League title, played out a draw in the first leg of their knockout-phase play-off.
Roma took the lead just before half-time when Zeki Celik pounced on Artem Dovbyk’s knock-on, finishing from close range.

Porto equalized when Roma failed to clear Diogo Costa’s long ball, allowing Francisco Moura to score from the edge of the box after a deflection off Celik.
Roma’s Bryan Cristante was sent off for a second yellow card, meaning he will miss the second leg next Thursday.
Opta had made Porto pre-season favourites to win the Europa League – a 17.8% shot – with Roma fifth favourites at 8.2%
But neither side managed to finish in the top eight in the group phase, so failed to qualify automatically for the last 16.
