President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has officially inaugurated the Bank of Ghana’s new state-of-the-art headquarters in Accra, marking a major step forward in the Central Bank’s mission to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.

The commissioning ceremony, held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, was attended by senior government officials, Bank of Ghana leadership, and key stakeholders in Ghana’s financial sector.

In his speech, President Akufo-Addo highlighted the significance of the facility in advancing Ghana’s financial infrastructure. He praised the Bank of Ghana for its dedication to innovation and operational excellence, stating, “This new headquarters will be the command centre of the bank’s operations, fostering innovation, collaboration, and excellence in its service to the nation.”

The modern headquarters symbolizes the Bank of Ghana’s readiness to meet the evolving needs of the country’s financial landscape while reinforcing its role in maintaining economic stability.

“It will also reinforce the bank’s capacity for advance critical financial sector reforms, enhance regulatory frameworks and improve the investment climate for both domestic and international stakeholders,” he stated.

The cutting-edge facility is expected to strengthen the Central Bank’s capacity to regulate and oversee Ghana’s financial system effectively.

It also represents the government’s broader agenda to promote economic stability and create an enabling environment for growth in the financial sector.
