President Akufo-Addo receives Qatar’s new ambassador to Ghana

On November 8, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo formally welcomed Khalid bin Jabr Al Musallam, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Qatar to Ghana, during a credential presentation ceremony held at Jubilee House in Accra.

The event highlighted the mutual respect and commitment to diplomatic relations between Ghana and Qatar, emphasizing both nations’ dedication to a shared future of collaboration.

Ambassador Al Musallam, in his address, conveyed heartfelt greetings from the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, extending his wishes for President Akufo-Addo’s good health, happiness, and success.

He also expressed hope for continued prosperity for the government and people of Ghana, underscoring Qatar’s interest in strengthening diplomatic and economic ties with Ghana.

President Akufo-Addo, reciprocating the warm wishes, extended his greetings to the Amir, expressing his admiration for Qatar’s development and progress under the Amir’s leadership.

He assured the ambassador of Ghana’s commitment to enhancing the longstanding, friendly relations that have been nurtured between the two nations.

The President further acknowledged the positive impact of Qatar’s partnership with Ghana, which has spanned multiple sectors, including trade, investment, education, health, and tourism.

He emphasized Ghana’s readiness to explore new avenues of cooperation, especially in areas of mutual benefit such as infrastructure development, energy, and technology.

Akufo-Addo also highlighted the recent achievements in Ghana-Qatar trade, noting that Ghana welcomes more Qatari investments, particularly within the growing energy and agricultural sectors.
