
President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo had a significant meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican’s Paul VI Hall, as confirmed by the Holy See Press Office on a Saturday.
During the encounter, President Akufo-Addo engaged in fruitful discussions with Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, accompanied by Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations, at the Secretariat of State.
The meeting underscored the strong and positive relations existing between Ghana and the Holy See.
The core focus of their talks revolved around fostering cooperation between Ghana and the Catholic Church, with special attention given to the fields of education and healthcare.
Furthermore, they delved into diverse aspects of Ghana’s political and socio-economic landscape.
In addition to the bilateral matters, both parties also delved into pressing global issues, with a particular emphasis on promoting peace worldwide and bolstering security in West African nations.
