
President Teodoro Obiang Nguema of Equatorial Guinea has elevated his son Teodorin Nguema Obiang to the position of Vice President in charge of defense and security, according to a decree read on Wednesday
“In agreement with the Basic Law of Equatorial Guinea, I appoint his Excellency Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue Vice President of the Republic,” the decree of President Obiang read.
The 47 years old Teodorin Nguema Obiang held the position of Alternate Vice President since 2012 and there are indications that he might be his father’s Successor.
He was sometimes ago under trial in France for fraudulently amassing wealth and the case was later dismissed.
I appoint his Excellency Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue Vice President of the Republic. President Obiang also made other movables which follow dissolution of the country’s government on June 17 after the presidential election of April 24 as handed by the Constitution.
Later this week, list of the remaining new members will be made known according to a report. President Teodoro Obiang Nguema has been in power since 1979 and was re-elected in April with a 93 percent of all casted votes.
