The vice-presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, is set to begin a campaign tour of the Upper West Region on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, as part of the party’s final push towards victory in the December general elections.

Her visit to the Upper West Region follows a successful tour of the Northern Region, where she engaged with various communities to rally support for the NDC’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, and the party’s parliamentary candidates.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s efforts are seen as critical to strengthening the party’s base and mobilizing voters in the lead-up to the elections.
During the tour, she is expected to visit key constituencies, including Wa Central, Lambussie, Nandom, Lawra, and Sissala, where she will interact with chiefs, opinion leaders, women’s groups, and youth organizations.
These engagements will focus on the NDC’s manifesto promises, including job creation, education reforms, healthcare improvements, and infrastructure development tailored to the region’s unique needs.
The tour will also feature town hall meetings and community durbars to address the concerns of residents and outline the NDC’s vision for a prosperous Ghana under Mahama’s leadership.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang is anticipated to emphasize the party’s plans to tackle unemployment, enhance agricultural productivity, and expand access to social amenities in the region.
The NDC vice-presidential candidate is expected to use the platform to urge residents to vote massively for the NDC to bring about what the party describes as a “rescue mission” for Ghana.
Her presence in the region underscores the NDC’s commitment to inclusive governance and addressing developmental gaps in northern Ghana.
This campaign tour is part of the NDC’s broader strategy to consolidate its electoral gains in the northern parts of the country while ensuring that the party’s message resonates with voters across all demographics.
