As the 2024 general elections approach, Prophet Kofi Oduro, the head pastor of Alabaster International Ministries, has cautioned his fellow clergy against publicly endorsing any presidential candidates.
He emphasized that such actions contradict divine principles and sow discord within the congregation.
Prophet Oduro’s concerns were triggered by a social media clip showing some pastors praying for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s success in the upcoming elections.

Instead, he urged his peers to offer counsel to presidential aspirants privately, rather than publicly advocating for them.
“While we can offer advice, we shouldn’t pray for any particular candidate to become the next president,” Prophet Oduro admonished his congregation.
“As representatives of God, we must maintain our neutrality and not compromise the dignity and glory of God by taking sides.”
Dr. Bawumia, who is seeking to address the challenges faced by various churches, will be competing against NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama and other candidates from various political parties in the December 7, 2024 elections.
