Pratt urgesKwesi Pratt Jnr, Insight Newspaper’s Managing Editor, has condemned the persistent vilification of Energy Minister Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
During a panel discussion on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo on April 15, 2024, Pratt denounced the targeting of the minister, who also represents Manhyia South in Parliament.

He challenged the legitimacy of recent controversies, including rumors about Opoku Prempeh’s potential vice-presidential candidacy, and queried whether a deliberate attempt was being made to discredit him.
Pratt drew attention to recent incidents, including the controversy surrounding Opoku Prempeh’s marriage, and posed the question, “What has Napo done to warrant sabotage from Ashanti region individuals? This is unjust.”
He noted that people are merely expressing their opinions on the matter, stating that Opoku Prempeh’s potential vice presidency would benefit the NPP and Ghana, which is not a negative outcome.
Pratt’s remarks were in response to a report in a daily newspaper alleging that a group was working to prevent Opoku Prempeh’s selection as a running mate.
Pratt stressed that Opoku Prempeh has not expressed any desire to become Vice President, yet speculation surrounding his potential selection persists.
