The Electoral Commission (EC) has reiterated its commitment to upholding the integrity of the electoral process, emphasizing that no officer involved in electoral misconduct will be shielded.

Dr. Bossman Asare, the EC’s Deputy Chairman for Corporate Services, made this promise during a public update on the ongoing voter exhibition exercise.

Dr. Asare disclosed that the EC has suspended the Pusiga District Electoral Officer, who is currently under investigation for alleged misconduct.

“Following preliminary investigations again the commission has suspended the Pusiga district electoral officer and has invited him to the commission for findings.

“Once the investigations are concluded the commission will take the appropriate action and inform the public accordingly.

The commission would like to assure the public that it will not shield any of its officers both permanent and temporarily found complicit in any of its electoral malpractices and will always allow such person to face the full recourse of the law,” he stated.
