In a strategic move, PV Jantuah Dadson Boateng, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communications team, has publicly endorsed Alan Kyerematen’s 2024 presidential bid.

Boateng believes that supporting Kyerematen, a former New Patriotic Party (NPP) member, would ultimately erode the NPP’s voter base, creating a favorable outcome for the NDC.

In an interview on Akoma FM on May 8, 2024, Boateng emphasized that Kyerematen’s success would directly translate into a reduction of potential votes for the NPP.

“Any victory for Alan Kyerematen is essentially a victory for the NDC,” he stated. “We should capitalize on the division within the NPP ranks and strategically maneuver to our advantage.”

The NDC aims to secure at least 30% of the votes in the Ashanti Region, the NPP’s stronghold. Boateng noted that if Kyerematen garners support from Ashanti voters, it would contribute to this objective, effectively splitting the NPP’s vote share.

“Even if Alan wins a modest 3% of the votes in the Ashanti region, it brings us closer to our goal. Currently, we stand at around 28%, but with strategic alliances and support, we can surpass our target.”

By backing Kyerematen, the NDC sees an opportunity to chip away at the NPP’s voter base, potentially paving the way for a more favorable electoral outcome.
