The Regional Advisory Information and Network Systems (RAINS) welcomed a delegation from the GLFx Chapter in Dowa, Malawi, for a four-day exchange program focused on collaboration and shared learning.

The visit included workshops and field activities in Bidima and Kpachelo, two communities in Northern Ghana where RAINS leads projects on sustainability and livelihoods.
In Bidima, the delegation met with women beekeepers to discuss sustainable beekeeping practices, hive management, and market access for honey products. The women shared their success stories, while participants discussed challenges and opportunities in the sector.
In Kpachelo, the team engaged with local farmers, learning about traditional farming methods and exploring sustainable practices to enhance productivity and climate resilience. This dialogue was aimed at helping farmers adapt to unpredictable climate conditions and boost yields.
RAINS Executive Director, Hardy Tijani, highlighted the significance of this visit, emphasizing that the partnership between RAINS and the GLFx Chapter strengthens both organizations’ commitment to environmental conservation and livelihood sustainability.
“Hosting our partners from the GLFx Chapter in Dowa marks a new chapter in our joint efforts to address conservation and livelihood sustainability,” he stated.
This partnership is expected to drive shared knowledge in environmental conservation and community resilience, as RAINS continues its leadership in promoting community-based solutions for sustainable development.
