In Cape Coast, the Gold Coast Masonic Hall hosted a momentous occasion as members of the District Grand Lodge of Ghana gathered for the 2024 Festival of Institutional Lodges.
The ceremony began with the arrival of Right Worshipful Isaac Owulaku Hood, District Grand Master, accompanied by his delegation, as the solemn strains of “Omnipotent Redeemer” set a reverent tone.

W. Bro. Amb. Dr. William G.M. Brandful, Chairman of the Festival Standing Committee, delivered a warm welcome address, followed by a dedication prayer from festival Chaplain, Brigadier General Moses Aryee. W. Bro. Dr. Bright Kyei Wiredu then introduced the orator, W. Bro. Dr. Andrew Ananie Arkutu, who celebrated the remarkable achievements of W. Bro. Francis Lodowic Bartels, a pioneering educator and distinguished Freemason.
The audience joined in singing “Now Praise We Great and Famous Men” before the festival lecture, delivered by Amb. Mrs. Agnes Aggrey-Orleans. She eloquently dispelled myths and distilled truths about Freemasonry and religion, emphasizing harmony and respect. Insightful discussions followed, moderated by W. Bro. Prof. Yaw Adu-Gyamfi, engaging both Masons and non-Masons.
The ceremony concluded with the District Grand Master’s address and a banquet at Pempamsie Hotel, celebrating the fellowship and camaraderie of the Freemasons.
