The Royal Ladies Ministry, the women’s wing of Royalhouse Chapel International, has celebrated its 30th anniversary by launching a charitable initiative to support children living with cancer.

The project, focused on childhood cancer, was held at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) and aims to raise awareness and provide tangible aid to the Pediatric Oncology Unit of the hospital.
The celebration, themed “Three Decades of Empowering Women and Transforming Lives,” included a generous donation of GH¢100,000 to the Pediatric Oncology Unit, alongside essential supplies such as Bibles, food, cash gifts, and other items for the parents and children undergoing treatment.

These contributions are intended to support both the physical and emotional well-being of children battling cancer, as well as provide comfort to their families during what is often a difficult and distressing time.

Rev. Mrs. Rita Korankye-Ankrah, the First Lady of Royalhouse Chapel International and the President General of the Royal Ladies Ministry, expressed her deep satisfaction with the project’s success.
Speaking at the event, she stated, “Every year, as a group within Royalhouse Chapel, we make donations across the nation, but this year, we decided to focus on childhood cancer.
We wanted to stand in solidarity with these innocent children who have been affected by this disease. It is our way of giving back and showing them that we care.”
She further emphasized that the gesture was just the beginning of the support the Pediatric Oncology Unit requires, highlighting the need for sustainable funding to purchase crucial cancer medications for the children.

“It’s not just about a one-time donation; it’s about ensuring continuous support so that these children have the resources they need to fight this disease,” she added.
The generous contribution was welcomed by the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr. Frank Owusu Sekyere.
He expressed his sincere gratitude to the Royal Ladies Ministry and urged other institutions, corporate organizations, and social groups to follow the example set by the women’s group. “It is heartwarming to see people care about the children.

We cannot do everything in healthcare; it is a shared responsibility. Your gesture sets a commendable example, and we hope others will follow suit to help us provide better care for the children here,” Dr. Owusu Sekyere said.
One of the parents present at the event, Madam Kate Baidoo, whose 5-year-old son is undergoing treatment at the unit, also expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the support.
“It means so much to us as parents to know that others care about our children. It’s not easy watching your child go through cancer treatment, but gestures like this give us hope and encouragement to keep going,” she said.
Dr. Ernestina Schandorf, a pediatric oncologist at KBTH, also extended her gratitude on behalf of the oncology unit, the parents, and the children. “We are incredibly grateful for the Royal Ladies Ministry’s donation.
The items received will go directly towards supporting the treatment and care of these children, and we are confident it will make a real difference in their lives.”
The project underscores the Royal Ladies Ministry’s deep commitment to social causes and the well-being of vulnerable groups.
The ministry has long been dedicated to empowering women and contributing to transformative social change, and this milestone anniversary project further solidifies its role in making a tangible impact in the community.
Through this initiative, the Royal Ladies Ministry continues to inspire others to be involved in charitable causes, particularly those that address urgent and often overlooked issues such as childhood cancer.
