Ghanaian socialite and actress Efia Odo has addressed rumors surrounding her departure from Eats Avenue, the restaurant she co-owns.

She faced criticism on social media regarding her ownership, with allegations about how she acquired her partnership. Some claims suggested she is romantically involved with her co-partner, who holds the majority of shares.

In a recent episode of the podcast “Rants, Bants and Confessions,” Efia Odo firmly denied these accusations, emphasizing that her relationship with the co-owner is purely “platonic.” She referred to him as an “uncle” who supports her in her endeavors.

“They started creating stories that the man and I are dating that we are in a relationship. That’s the mess up thing about it. He is someone that I respect so much, he’s really put me on a pedestal, he’s opened my eyes to the business aspect.

He made me feel like a woman of substance and puts energy into everyone he’s around so I didn’t like the idea that we were dating…so false,” she said.

“Those were some factors that ended up at where we are now [Leaving her job as a manager of the restaurant]. To take myself out of the equation and say I’m no longer related physically to the restaurant,” she added.

Efia Odo also dismissed claims that her co-partner caught her in a compromising situation with Medikal’s manager, Kofi Jam.

“One instance, they said my co-owner saw me chopping it up with the guy at the restaurant. Like how?” she questioned, labeling the rumor as entirely false.

She explained that her friendly and sociable nature is often misinterpreted as flirtation, which leads to misunderstandings about her behavior.

“I welcome everyone. I’m very hospitable and sociable. I flirt with my customers because it attracts more business. I do it with both males and females to show that I’m a welcoming person,” she stated.

Reflecting on the impact of the gossip, Efia Odo admitted, “A lot of this gossip affected me; I am human.”

Despite the recent controversy, she remains focused on moving forward and confirmed that she is still a co-owner of the restaurant and has not relinquished her 40% stake.
