Recent flooding in the Saboba constituency of the Northern Region has had a devastating impact on the community, resulting in two fatalities and affecting many others.
The heavy rains have left numerous communities isolated, severely disrupting the livelihoods of residents.

Currently, roads connecting Saboba and Chereponi to Tamale, Yendi, and Wapuli are impassable.
Joseph Nikpe Bukari, the Member of Parliament for Saboba, shared this information with journalists in Accra on Thursday and called for government intervention.
“Remember that we are blessed with a lot of river bodies and in Saboba, the river Oti passes there. We have a lot of low-lying areas. So all those areas are flooded, and all the crops that were cultivated have all been submerged.
“A lot of settlements have been submerged, and a lot of people have to leave their area or their boat where they stay to now look for shelter in schools.
“As of two days ago, we had lost two people. I think it’s so huge that I want to say that NADMO and the government need to intervene. Now the difficult thing is that because of the floods, all four entry points to Saboba are all cut off.”
“We have an entry point from Yendi through Palba to Saboba. We have another one from Yendi through Wapoli to Saboba another one from Chereponi through Bongpong to Saboba and another one from Saboba town through Buagwan to the Republic of Togo. All these four entry points are all cut off,” he stated.
