Elrad Amoako, the son of Prophet Salifu Amoako, has been remanded in custody following his involvement in a fatal accident in East Legon.

Appearing before the Juvenile Court in Accra on Friday, November 1, 2024, the judge ordered that Elrad’s American and Ghanaian passports be confiscated to prevent any potential attempt to flee.

The accident, which occurred on October 12, tragically claimed two lives, sparking public outrage and calls for justice.

Though Elrad, a minor, faces serious charges, specific details of the allegations have not been disclosed.

In addition to the remand order, the court has required a medical evaluation for Elrad.

He will undergo a comprehensive physical and mental health assessment at the University of Ghana Hospital on Monday.

The next court hearing is scheduled for November 7, 2024, when more information about his involvement and the legal process is expected to emerge.

The case has attracted significant media coverage, partly due to Elrad’s prominent family background, fueling wider discussions on road safety, accountability, and the juvenile justice system in Ghana.
