The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has urged voters in the Mfantseman Constituency of the Central Region to remove their current Member of Parliament, Madam Ophelia Hayford, in the upcoming December elections due to her lack of performance.

During his campaign tour of the Central Region, Gyamfi made this appeal during community engagements at Abandze and Kromantse, two fishing communities within the constituency, alongside Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.

Gyamfi criticized Madam Hayford as a “nonperforming MP” who contributes little beyond her presence in Parliament.

He highlighted the qualifications of the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for Mfantseman, Dr. Prince Kojo Arhin, describing him as a dynamic and accomplished individual with an impressive background in Human Resource management.

“Dr. Prince Arhin will provide quality representation for the people of Mfantseman,” Gyamfi asserted.

He emphasized that the constituency is currently lacking effective representation and noted that Madam Hayford has earned the unfortunate title of a “yea yea MP,” lacking the advocacy skills necessary to represent her constituents effectively.

Gyamfi expressed that this situation is hindering local development and encouraged voters to support Dr. Arhin for better representation.

In response to a request from the chief of Kromantse to complete a stalled community center project, the NDC delegation pledged GHS 10,000 on behalf of the party’s presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama.
