Samson Asaki Awingobit has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the delegates of the People’s National Convention (PNC) following his election as National Chairman.
In a “Thank You” message on Sunday, Awingobit conveyed his deep appreciation for the trust and confidence placed in him by the party members.

“I am deeply honored and humbled by your confidence in electing me as the National Chairman of the PNC.
Your support means everything to me, and I am truly grateful to everyone who contributed to this victory,” Awingobit said.
He emphasized that the victory is a collective achievement, highlighting the party’s unity, strength, and dedication. “Together, we have proven that unity enables us to accomplish great things,” he added.
Awingobit committed to working tirelessly to strengthen the party, promote unity, and uphold the PNC’s core values.
He vowed to build a brighter future for the nation and ensure that the voice of the people is heard.
Awingobit received 893 votes, while Hajia Hajara earned 460 votes out of 1,382 total votes cast. Of these, 1,353 were valid and 29 were rejected.
In a gesture of goodwill, Awingobit praised his competitor, emphasizing the healthy competition and his eagerness to collaborate.
“As a leading figure in the PNC, I look forward to working closely with you and addressing key issues together for the betterment of the party,” he stated.
Awingobit thanked the delegates for their unwavering support and expressed his anticipation of working together to advance the PNC’s cause and the country’s progress.
