Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been arrested in New York City on federal charges, according to CBS, a partner of the BBC in the US. This arrest follows earlier raids in Los Angeles and Miami as part of an ongoing investigation into sex trafficking.

Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, expressed disappointment, asserting that his client is innocent. The musician has faced various allegations, including sexual assault and abuse, which he denies.
The arrest is linked to an ongoing investigation by US Homeland Security. Damian Williams, the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, confirmed the arrest and noted that the indictment is currently sealed, with plans to unseal it on Tuesday.
Combs faces several civil lawsuits alleging serious offenses, including the rape of a minor and attempts to coerce individuals into sexual acts.
His attorney remains hopeful that the legal process will clear his name, describing Combs as a dedicated family man and philanthropist.
The legal troubles for Combs began in November 2023, with lawsuits filed by Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and other women accusing him of abuse. New allegations surfaced in December and February, including claims of sex trafficking and unwanted sexual advances.
Combs has consistently denied all allegations, calling the lawsuits a “money grab.” The investigation intensified with property raids and his subsequent arrest, occurring shortly before the New York Adult Survivors Act’s expiration, which allowed delayed sexual abuse claims.
Footage from May reportedly shows Combs assaulting Ventura, a claim included in her civil suit. Known by multiple aliases, including Puffy and P Diddy, Combs is a prominent figure in the rap industry.
