Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, seen at the 2017 Met Gala in New York, has been denied bail once again and will remain in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn while awaiting trial.

A federal judge in New York has set Combs’ trial for May 5, 2025, where he will face charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.
During a pretrial hearing on Thursday, Judge Arun Subramanian granted the defense’s request for an April or May trial date but confirmed that Combs would stay detained.
Combs has been in jail since September 16, following his arrest on federal charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transporting individuals for prostitution, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
His legal team has made three unsuccessful attempts to secure bail, arguing that the initial judge’s decision was influenced by the case’s sensationalism. Combs’ latest bail request was denied two days before the pretrial hearing.
Thursday’s hearing marked Combs’ first court appearance since his arrest. His mother, Janice Combs, and his children were present at the courthouse.
During the hearing, Combs’ attorneys accused the government of leaking surveillance footage to CNN. The video, which surfaced in May, shows Combs allegedly assaulting his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.
His legal team has filed a motion to exclude the footage from the trial, arguing it could bias the jury.
However, prosecutors refuted the claim, stating that the government was not involved in the leak and did not possess the footage prior to its publication by CNN.
Combs is scheduled to return to court on December 18.
