Several soldiers and security personnel collapse during Ghana’s 67th Independence Day Parade

Students from numerous schools in the New Juaben Municipality and the Eastern region showcased their marching skills and other performances at the 67th Independence Day celebrations. Farmers and security personnel also participated in this vibrant event, exhibiting their talents.

However, the parade was marred by the unfortunate occurrence of some soldiers and security personnel fainting. The Ghana Ambulance Service responded swiftly, attending to the collapsed officer and transporting them away from the scene on a stretcher.

The 67th independence day anniversary, themed “Our Democracy, Our Pride,” was held in Koforidua, Eastern Region, and was attended by high-profile personalities, including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The event featured 21 contingents of security agencies, representatives from 11 schools, and various traditional groups. Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara graced the occasion as the special guest of honor.
