Shatta Wale, a Ghanaian dancehall artist, celebrated his 40th birthday on October 17, 2024, and received numerous congratulatory messages, including one from his long-time rival, Stonebwoy.
Stonebwoy tweeted, “No matter the differences. I wish you long life, brother! Big 40… (Blackstar age)”.
However, Shatta Wale responded, seemingly unimpressed, saying, “Which differences? Stop fooling and grow up… The fans don’t need this enmity… be safe.
“Their rivalry dates back to the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, where controversy erupted after Stonebwoy was announced as the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year, prompting Shatta Wale and his entourage to storm the stage and Stonebwoy to pull out a gun.
Despite past attempts at peace, their relationship remains complicated, with this recent exchange reigniting public interest in their ongoing rivalry.
Shatta Wale has significantly impacted Ghana’s music industry with his versatility and dynamic style, releasing tracks that resonate locally and internationally.
