Spanish teenager Lamine Yamal has made a historic mark at the European Championship.
At just 16 years old, he became the youngest player ever to score in the tournament during Tuesday’s semi-final against France.

In the 21st minute, Yamal scored a stunning goal that curled past French goalkeeper Mike Maignan and found the top left corner of the net.
This goal not only secured him the title of the youngest scorer in European Championship history, surpassing Johan Vonlanthen’s record set at 18 years old in 2004, but also made him the youngest scorer in any major tournament, surpassing the legendary Pelé, who achieved the feat at 17 years old in 1958.

Yamal’s talent goes beyond scoring goals. He made history earlier in the Euros by becoming the first teenager to provide an assist.
With three assists now, he stands as the sole teenager in the tournament’s history to achieve this milestone.
He joins an exclusive group of teenagers since 1980 who have contributed multiple assists in the knockout stages, alongside Türkiye’s Arda Güler.
Following Yamal’s goal, Spain scored again with a deflection by Jules Koundé of France. Spain now awaits the winner of the England vs. Netherlands match in the Euros final.
