American rapper Snoop Dogg has been chosen as one of the final torchbearers for the Olympic flame before the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.

The 52-year-old artist will carry the torch through the streets of Saint-Denis, a northern suburb of Paris and home to the Stade de France Olympic Stadium, on Friday.
This segment of the relay is the penultimate leg before the flame reaches its final destination at the Eiffel Tower.
Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., hails from Los Angeles, the host city for the 2028 Summer Games. He will be joined in Saint-Denis by other notable torchbearers, including French actress Laetitia Casta and French rapper MC Solaar.
Since its journey began in May, the Olympic torch has traveled across France, carried by a range of distinguished individuals.
Among the torchbearers are former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger, Formula One driver Charles Leclerc, and actress Halle Berry.
The Paris 2024 Summer Olympics are set to be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
