Spain clinches the gold medal with a 5-3 victory over France in extra time

Spain won the gold medal in the Olympic men’s soccer tournament after beating France 5-3 in extra time on Friday at Parc des Princes.

The game was tied 3-3 after normal time, but Sergio Camello scored twice in extra time to give Spain their first Olympic title since 1992.

France had made a great comeback, coming back from 3-1 down.

Maghnes Akliouche scored in the 79th minute, and Jean-Philippe Mateta scored a penalty in stoppage time after a VAR review to force extra time.

Earlier in the match, Spain turned things around after France’s Enzo Millot scored in the 12th minute.

Fermin Lopez scored twice, and Alex Baena added a fantastic free-kick to put Spain ahead.
