On June 12, 2024, the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) hosted a town hall meeting in the Ashanti Region to facilitate the implementation of the Cylinder Recirculation Model (CRM).

The event, held at Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi, brought together diverse stakeholders, including the Ghana National Fire Service, Police Service, Ghana Standards Authority, LPG operators, journalists, traders, driver unions, and oil marketing companies.

Obed Kraine Boachie, Head of Gas and Commercial Regulations at NPA, emphasized that the engagement was comprehensive, involving all relevant groups and individuals.

He highlighted the CRM’s potential to increase LPG adoption in Ghana, reducing costs for households and individuals.

To participate, consumers must register with an exchange point in their area using their Ghana Card, creating a database for tracking cylinders.

The CRM operates on a exchange system, where empty cylinders are replaced with filled ones at designated points, promoting safety by reducing accidents at gas filling points in residential areas.
