Raheem Sterling has been left out of Chelsea’s squad for their Europa Conference League play-off first leg against Servette.

This marks his second consecutive absence from the matchday squad, following his exclusion from the Premier League opener against Manchester City.

Sterling’s representatives are seeking “clarity” about his future at Chelsea amid the club’s major spending this summer.

With over 40 senior players in the squad, manager Enzo Maresca has noted the difficulty in providing playing time for everyone.

Although Sterling has made 81 appearances for Chelsea since joining from Manchester City in 2022, his future at the club remains uncertain.

The Europa Conference League play-off could offer a chance for him to feature if Chelsea progresses to the group stage.
