One person has been killed and another injured by stray bullet at Aboabo Number 2, a suburb of Asokore Mampong Municipality in the Ashanti Region.
The deceased, a sixteen years old Gafaru Kassim, while the injured were reportedly shot by an unknown persons when a group of young men were rubbishing guns at part of the Eid-ul-fitr celebration.
Both were sent to the Manhyia Government Hospital, where Gafaru was pronounced dead.
The injured, whose name is still unknown, is receiving treatment at the hospital.
Uncle of the deceased, Gafaru Kassim, says the family is shocked about the turn out of event.
Meanwhile, all out door Eid-ul-fitr celebrations in the area were suspended.
The Asokore Mampong Municipal Chief Executive, Alhaji Alidu Seidu, says “the police have been deployed to the area where the suspect involved in the shooting incident must be hiding.”
