Sudan’s head coach, Kwesi Appiah, is determined to lead his team to victory against Ghana in their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.

Following a goalless draw in the first leg, the match will take place on neutral ground in Libya on Tuesday, October 15, 2025.

Despite being forced to play away from home, Sudan remains focused on maintaining its strong AFCON qualifying record, having gone undefeated in their “home” matches this campaign.

Coach Appiah acknowledged the strength of the Ghanaian team but remains confident in his squad’s preparedness for the challenge.

“It will not be easy, but Insha Allah, we will fight for a victory for Sudan,” Appiah stated.

Historically, Ghana has had a mixed record against Sudan, with both teams having won three times in their last six encounters.

Their previous meeting resulted in a narrow 1-0 loss for Ghana, where Sudan’s Mohamed Abdel Raman scored a late winner.
