Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign Team, emphasized the significant progress made in economic reforms under the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, stating that Ghana is “almost there” in solidifying its economic fundamentals.

Aboagye contended that this accomplishment is a key reason why Ghanaians should back Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming elections.

During an appearance on Point Blank, a segment of Eyewitness News, on Monday, November 4, 2024, he argued that the government’s efforts over the past eight years have laid a robust foundation for sustainable growth and industrial development, setting the stage for further progress under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership.

“When you have a country whose industrial base from independence has been destroyed between 1988 and 2000, you can’t in eight years and that is why if you are going to make a choice between Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Mahama, you don’t just go and say it is eight years and so go.

“You and vote and say you were president; what are your records in fixing these fundamentals and the records of this government in fixing the fundamentals? This government, if not for anything, we all attest to the fact that we are almost there when it comes to formalising this economy.

“Again, this government has evidence to show that deliberately, we have put in place systems and structures to ensure that we stimulate the private sector to rebuild the industrial base. We have 11 automobile companies coming into this country. That is a big deal.

“You don’t get automobile companies peaking in four years. They need time to be able to peak then you begin to feel the impact. Why do you want to truncate a government that is showing working in fixing the fundamentals and go and pick a government, didn’t do any better, has no records of building anything towards building the economy,” he stated.
