The Supreme Court has set December 18, 2024, as the date to deliver its judgment on the constitutional challenge against the Anti-LGBTQI+ Bill, filed by Richard Dela Sky.

The case, which has been pending since May 2024, has faced criticism from supporters of the bill who accused the Chief Justice of delaying the process.

However, the Judicial Service clarified that the delay was due to the failure of the parties involved to submit the required documents to advance the case.

The Speaker of Parliament and the Attorney General were granted leave to file their defenses earlier.

During a hearing on Tuesday, the court allowed the applicant to amend parts of his statement of case, providing the defendants with an opportunity to respond.

The court then adjourned the matter, with the ruling now scheduled for December 18.
