The Accra Sports Stadium on Friday was the venue for the unveiling of the Sportswriters Association of Ghana’s (SWAG) new office.

The event drew key figures from the sports community, including heads of various sporting federations and other dignitaries.

The newly renovated office space, provided by the National Sports Authority (NSA), has been upgraded into a modern facility for SWAG.

Majeed Bawah, the Deputy Director General of NSA, underscored the enduring partnership between the NSA and SWAG, highlighting their shared commitment to supporting sports federations.

“We have been accommodating the association for a very long time, and we see it as an obligation to house them. Not only SWAG but all federations if we have the capacity.

We will do that so that while we are together, we can work together, share common problems, celebrate our achievements, and move sports forward,” said Bawah.

SWAG President Kwabena Yeboah expressed his gratitude to the National Sports Authority (NSA) for their support, recognizing the dedication of sportswriters and the ongoing collaboration with various sports authorities.

During the event, appreciation medals were awarded to several notable individuals, including former Deputy Minister of Sports Joe Aggrey, veteran journalist Ebo Quansah, GHALCA chairman Kudjoe Fianoo, and Chief Patron of SWAG, His Excellency Amarkai Amarteifio, in recognition of their significant contributions to the association.
