SWAG set to give up club house as covid-19 isolation centre

The General Secretary of the Sports Writers’ Association of Ghana (SWAG), Charles Osei-Assibey, has revealed that government is engaging the Association to release its clubhouse in fight against the Covid-19 . 

The SWAG club house which is located at Dansoman a suburb in Accra will be used as an isolation center for Covid-19 patients in that vicinity should it be release to health authorities.

Charles Osei-Assibey, who spoke on behalf of SWAG on Happy FM’s discussion on the effects of Covid-19 on Ghana’s Sports industry said, “What I can say is that SWAG is also being engaged as part of the fight against Covid-19.

“We have been contacted by authorities to consider releasing our guesthouse to be used as an isolation centre for COVID-19 victims around Dansoman where the house is located.

“We are expecting them to write to us formally then we take it up to the General Council, he added.

Ghana has recorded over 5,000 cases with 22 dead and 494 recoveries.
