As part of its Ashanti Month celebrations, Telecel Ghana, led by the Board Chair of Telecel Group, Nicolas Bourg, and the Senior Management Team, has embarked on a series of high-profile visits to key clients in Kumasi.

The purpose of these enterprise visits is to better understand the evolving needs of its high-value customers, strengthen business relationships, and identify areas for potential improvement.

Among the prominent organizations visited were the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), DBS Industries, Karima Auto Shipping, Lotto and Lotteries, Giant Traders, and the Participatory Development Associate, among others.

One of the key highlights was the visit to KNUST, a long-standing partner of Telecel in promoting digital education and expanding connectivity in the country. During the visit, Nicolas Bourg reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the university’s growth, particularly in enhancing its connectivity infrastructure.

“The quality of a country’s education is reflected in their quality of life. We understand the importance of providing reliable and fast connectivity for both students and faculty, which is why we are here today to listen, understand, and ensure that our services align with KNUST’s evolving needs,” said Bourg.

CEO of Telecel Ghana, Ing. Patricia Obo-Nai, who is also an alumna of KNUST, shared her personal connection to the university, recalling her time as an electrical engineering student. She assured the university of continued improvements in Telecel’s connectivity services to support KNUST’s role as a hub of innovation and knowledge.

“I understand the power of a strong foundation in education and innovation. Telecel Ghana holds this partnership in high esteem, and we will continue to offer KNUST improved connectivity to ensure it stays at the forefront of scientific and technological advancements,” Ing. Obo-Nai emphasized.

In response, Professor Rita Akosua Dickson, Vice Chancellor of KNUST, expressed her gratitude to Telecel for its ongoing support, highlighting the shared vision for progress and innovation that underpins the successful partnership between the university and the telecom company.

“Telecel Ghana’s connectivity has been vital in supporting our academic and research programmes, most specifically, fuelling how we run our e-learning centres. Our graduates are dominating the fields of engineering, health, agriculture and technology. Our collaboration with Telecel has positioned us well in this regard, and we are excited to see where this partnership will take us,” Prof. Dickson said.

Telecel Ghana provides connectivity services to KNUST’s over 90,000 students and faculty members across its main and satellite campuses in Ghana.

The courtesy visits form part of Telecel Ghana’s 2024 Ashanti Month celebrations in Kumasi, which include key activities such as headlining the 67th Asantehene Open Golf Tournament, digital and financial skills training for women entrepreneurs, health screenings, clearing the medical bills of indebted patients in the regional hospital and a series of market activations.
