The Executive Committee of the Cameroon Football Federation has rejected the resignation of Samuel Eto’o, its president, despite the disappointing performance of the Indomitable Lions in the AFCON 2023 tournament.

Cameroon’s elimination from the competition occurred after a 2-0 loss to Nigeria in the round of 16, prompting Eto’o to tender his resignation.
Eto’o, a former striker with a remarkable career highlighted by three Champions League titles and two AFCON victories, was elected president of Fecafoot in December 2021.

However, his tenure has been marred by controversy, including several contentious incidents over the past two and a half years.
